Supplement Smarter!

A 5-Step Guide for Parents of Autistic Kids

Confused about vitamins, probiotics, or other supplements?

Unsure what’s safe or a waste of money?

This hype-free eBook uses science, good sense, and my own professional experience to help you answer those questions.

It’s finally here . . .

As a mom to an autistic child myself, practical parenting advice can often be hard to find.

“If you wait long enough, he’ll eat what you give him.”

“Be firm and she’ll stay asleep”

“You’re overthinking it. When I did [insert advice], it totally worked for my kids.”

“Don’t worry, he’ll eventually grow out of this.”

If only!

Well-meaning advice doesn’t always work with children whose brains and bodies don’t process sensory input the same as neurotypical kids. And because all our children are so unique, a breakthrough for one kid is a bust for another.

With 15+ years of experience as a researcher studying health-parenting (how to get kids to adopt positive and healthy habits), and 7 years of actually living this out as a mother, I understand the difference between ideal and for real when it comes to supporting our kids.

But we need solutions.

Children with unique sensory needs often struggle with:

  • eating too little or too much

  • eating a very small number of foods

  • anxiety with new food situations

  • sleep challenges

  • constipation or stomach troubles

  • balancing screen/media use with other activities

Unfortunately, entire industries thrive on selling supplements, treatments, and approaches that often don’t work for our kids.

Some can even make them feel even worse than before.

My philosophy

Using a science-based and foods-first approach, I help families address the root causes of why our kids often don’t feel good.

It’s not because our kids are broken. Or need to be “cured.” Or have some crazy overgrowth of yeast or bacteria.

It’s often because they (and we parents) need to go back to the basics. Helping our kids enjoy and explore food using different approaches, figuring out helpful routines, and getting help when we need it,

If our kids eat french fries, then we work with french fries.

A flexible approach to wellness is the only one that will work for our children.
